Hello Shooters-
The preliminary results for the
October TAPS match are attached for those who shot the match to review. If
any of you find errors in your Class or Division, let me know before I finalize
the results on Wednesday and submit everything to USPSA.
In spite of a chilly start,
things warmed nicely in the afternoon, even though the wind gusts kept blowing
poppers down. Turnout was disappointing, and many of you missed a 32-round
Tournament level stage Larry came up with just for this match. I am
stymied by the lack of attendance at the monthly matches recently, with only 25
or fewer shooters showing up for a 6 stage match with over 140 rounds. If
anyone has ideas on why attendance is dropping off, maybe we can do something to
turn things around. Please let me know.
Thanks to Bud Millar, Gene
Sutton, Ryan Bingaman, and Noah Gladstone for arriving early to help
set up. I will continue the offer to let the first 5 set up people shoot
for half price as an incentive to get more help. We were OK Sunday, but
more workers would make everything easier. Simply showing up early and
standing around or figuring out how you're going to shoot the stage does nothing
to help get things ready. In the immortal words of Lew Walker, Area 8 CRO,
"You can work, or you can talk. If you can't work and talk, just
work." Nicely said Lew.
Congratulations to Division
winners Don Seigle, Bryan Jones, Vince Hall and Bob Ariyamitr. Although
only Open and Production had enough entries to pay to the award, the other
Division winners will get free monthly match re-entry certificates.
A and B Class in Open will be the only Classes paid this month. Thanks to
those who bought Junior Raffle tickets to support the USPSA Junior Program, and
good luck in the drawing!
See you next month! Dave
Miller, Match Director
